AVU summer 2023

Welcome to our curated showcase of standout artworks from the summer semester at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.

Tereza Šrámková

I found myself entering Tereza Šrámková's installation at just the right moment.  Her installation is called: age of mythology that captivated me from the start.

Tereza Antolová

Next, I was mesmerized by Tereza Antolová's sculpture of a woman's torso, accompanied by her insightful studies of female sculptures. Tereza usually provides the exhibition spectators with multilayered situations open for their own interpretation.

Tereza Frindová

The third and final Tereza was Tereza Frindová. Her figurative work puts bodies at the forefront, transforming them into captivating objects within timeless and intricately arranged scenes.

Jan Štulíř

Beneath the Terezas, I discovered Jan Štulíř's most vibrant and colorful work of his yet. Two drawings, accompanying the installation, brought me immense joy.

Following that, I explored Lucie Rosická's installation, as we are currently collaborating on an upcoming exhibition at HIDDEN. The anticipation is building.

Alexandra Grüner

Alexandra's current work took a slightly darker turn, and I couldn't help but fall in love with it. Her presence at HIDDEN is also eagerly anticipated.

Jakub Brázda

Madonna is a recurring theme in Jakub Brázda's work. He recently returned from Indonesia, bringing along his new creations. I fell in love with his sculpture of a motorcycle and this set of chess.

Ilona Koroman

I first noticed Ilona Koroman's work back in January. Her beautifully captured everyday life moments with an amazing color palette, immersing viewers in the scenes she portrays. There is a touch of hygge, which adds an extra layer of warmth and familiarity to her creations.

Liza Libenko

Lastly, we have Liza Libenko. It's worth mentioning that I actually opened the Hidden gallery in Borivojova with her solo exhibition. Recently she moved from figurative work towards a more abstract one, maybe because her work became more personal lately.
