Ilona maps everyday moments of the city or intimate corners of the home interior. In her paintings, the world looks serene, life moves at its own pace and no one is in a hurry. Even looking at a painting with a view of a housing estate and the chimneys of the local power station smoking in the background makes you want to immerse yourself in the painting and go for a walk, maybe have a cup of tea in one of the lit windows.
